Lorena Mihelač was born in 1963 and finished mostly of her schooling in Netherland and Croatia. In 1988 she gained her Master of art at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (Serbia). Currently she is finishing her PhD at the University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia (doctoral thesis: National identity and music in young adolescents).
She attendes periodically on the congresses with papers connected with different topics, mostly with music, pedagogy or sociology (EPTA Rome, 2004, De-Canonizing history of music 2007 Helsinki, BFE Liverpool 2009, ISAE, MICY Ljubljana 2009, SIRIKT 2010...).
She is currently working as a professor of the methodology of music in Solski center Novo mesto, Srednja sola Metlika.
Her activities are also connected with eTwinning projects, iEARN projects and Comenius (bilateral partnership with Latvia).
